20 international airlines keen to fly from Bhubaneswar Airport

Over 20 international airlines have expressed their interest to start operations to and from Odisha’s Biju Patnaik International Airport.

This was informed by the Bhubaneswar airport director Sharad Kumar who recently attended a conference of airline companies in South Africa.

Fly Emirates, Bangkok Airways, Hong Kong Airlines, Kenya Airways, Mega Maldives Airlines are among the 20 odd airlines that are keen to add Bhubaneswar to their list of destinations.

“We have held discussions with around 20-21 leading airlines about scheduled as well as charter flights and we are hopeful that some of them will soon launch their flight operations from Bhubaneswar,” said Sharad Kumar.

State’s lone airport presently has only one scheduled airlines service offered by Indian Airlines connecting to and from New Delhi from where passengers board connecting flight to international destinations.
