Air Odisha will start its intra-state flight service on January 19 to Sambalpur, Jeypore, Jharsuguda and Rourkela from Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the intra-state air services of Air Odisha at the Biju Patnaik International Airport on Tuesday.
On the inaugural day, the nine-seater first commercial flight of the Air Odisha will fly to Sambalpur and return Bhubaneswar via Jharsuguda. Later it will fly to Jeypore in Koraput district and return Bhubaneswar and later take off for Rourkela.

The service will be available six days a week except Sunday. The minimum price for each ticket was fixed at Rs 2,499.
The aircraft will go to five destinations every day from Bhubaneswar and the carrier will engage 25 employees, including an engineer, at each destination. It should be noted that earlier, the private airline had successfully conducted trial runs to the four cities.

Before Air Odisha was picked up for the operation, three players had participated in the tender. While one was disqualified, there was a contest between Deccan Charters and Air Odisha.
