Ananya Sritam Nanda performs at 22nd State Youth Festival in Puri

Ananya Sritam Nanda, the Odisha girl who won the Season 2 of Indian Idol Junior, performed popular hit songs at a concert in Puri as part of the ongoing 22nd State Youth Festival.

The event is providing a chance to youngsters across the state to showcase their talents. The festival is also giving them an opportunity to share the stage with icons of art and culture.

Around 1,600 youngsters are taking part in the four-day festival, which is being organised on the SCS College ground. Competitions in singing, dancing and drama will be held. The administration has been hosting the event for the last 22 years.

Youngsters are extremely excited about the performances. Ankita Meher from Dhenkanal district, who is taking part in a classical dance event, said: “I am concerned about my performance but I am also eager to watch the performances of the other participants. It will give me a chance to improve myself.”

District Sports Officer Rabindra Kumar Senapati is conducting the proceedings of the festival. District Collector Arabind Agarwal and Superintendent of Police Dr Sartthak Sarangi, Media Coordination Committee Chairman Madhusudan Dash and other officers of the concerned departments were present at the inaugural function.

“There are many similarities and differences in popular culture and lifestyle of our state. It is very important that the youngsters get a chance to understand our culture,” said district sports officer Rabindra Kumar Senapati.
