Bali Jatra in Bhubaneswar to commemorate the maritime glory

People in Bhubaneswar are eagerly waiting to witness the historic Bali Jatra on the outskirts of Smart city after their expectation was faded away with no consent from the Commissionerate police previous year.

The second annual Bali Jatra is likely to be held on Kuakhai river banks near at Patia Bandha near Jaripatna on outskirts of Bhubaneswar from November 23 to 30.

With the inauguration of the Bhubaneswar Bali Jatra Committee office by Bhubaneswar (north) MLA Priyadarshi Mishra on Friday, some positive signal is expected from the administration to hold the event that marks the maritime glory of Odisha.

According to reports, the Bali Jatra in Bhubaneswar will feature around 500 stalls, two stages, various types of swings and cultural programmes every evening.

Last year, the Commissionerate police had denied giving permission for Bali Jatra in Bhubaneswar due to various reasons. However, the Committee is expecting to hold the event successfully for eight days this year.
