Girls of the Banjara School of Dance performed belly dance on ‘tip tip barsa pani’ bollywood song during the ongoing beach carnival in Puri on Monday night.
Puri, the temple town is hosting its first beach carnival, on the lines of Goa’s iconic one, with a slew of activities, workshops, sports and performances from January 20 to 26.
Taking place on a 3km stretch between MAYFAIR Waves and Swargadwar beach, the Puri Beach Carnival started with a colourful parade including decked-up bullock carts and rickshaws, naval bands, and performers of Odissi, Gotipua and Chhau, among others.
The seven-day schedule is packed with beach yoga, aerobics, cycling, roller-skating, beach volleyball, kabaddi, paintball, fashion shows and mask parties. Adventure junkies can go jet-skiing, surfing, zorbing, parasailing, paramotoring and dragon-boat racing. Plus, there are sand-art and photography exhibitions, beach theatre and a tattoo workshop.
Bollywood stars, including Govinda, are expected to be present at the last day of Puri Beach Carnival. Watch awesome belly dance by Banjara girls below.
