Air Odisha will start regular flight services between Bhubaneswar and Jeypore from January 16 for six days of a week.
A nine-seater plane will fly from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) initially.
On Friday, the Air Odisha authorities conducted a trial run between the capital city of Bhubaneswar and Jeypore successfully.
As part of the trial run, a plane of the airlines took off from the Bhubaneswar airport and landed at the Jeypore airstrip in Koraput district.

Bhubaneswar to Jeypore flight service will be available six days a week from Monday till Saturday and there will be only one flight daily between the two cities. Though the ticket price has not yet fixed, but one can book tickets by visiting company’s website www.airodisha.com, sources in the Air Odisha said.

The sources said the nine-seater flight will leave Bhubaneswar airport at 9 am and land at the Jeypore airstrip at 11 am daily and leave for Bhubaneswar at11.10 am and land at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 12.40 pm.
Spread over an area of 60 acres, the airstrip has 900 meter long and 15 meter width runway.
Notably, the State government had urged the defence ministry to advise Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for development of the airstrip for commercial operations.
