Budhia Singh: Where is he now? – World’s youngest marathon runner

In 2006, four-year-old Budhia Singh had become the world’s youngest marathon runner in the Limca book of records, winning accolades as well as creating controversy.

Budhia is in the headlines again, with Soumedra Padhi’s film based on the little marathoner titled ‘Duronto’ won the Best Children’s Film at the National Film Awards.

But ironically, the wonder boy of Odisha who was touted to win an Olympics is today burdened under his school books. He can no longer run even 6 kilometers.

The 14 year-old is currently studying in an English medium school in Bhubaneswar (DAV Chandrasekharpur) on a government scholarship and staying with his family in Salia Sahi slum.
