Students can get certificates and marksheets online in Odisha

Rushing to the board office or the university to get a duplicate copy of certificates or marksheets has become past with the launch of an online facility.

Now students of universities and schools in Odisha need not run from counter to counter to get a copy of their certificates or marksheets. They can now get them through an online public service portal lokseba.odisha.in.

Chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Saturday inaugurated online facility for eight services related to universities and the Board of Secondary Education.

Launching the online system, Padhi asked the Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI) to make the online services completely free of human interface in the coming months.

Padhi also asked the CMGI to link the online service portal with government dues payment system. This, he said, would spare the people from physically visiting the offices to clear fees and dues.

He also directed officials to deliver the online services within the specified time period in accordance to Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012.

To access the facility, the applicants would have to register on the portal and apply for the required service. There would also be able to pay the fees online.

After the application is submitted, the applicant would get an auto-generated acknowledgement mentioning all details.

Then the application would be processed online. After it gets final approval of the sanctioning authority, the applicant would get an auto-generated SMS to download the certificate.
