Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flagged off a special digital literacy bus ‘World on Wheels’ at the state Secretariat on Saturday.
The literacy vehicle ‘World on Wheels’, which has been sponsored by Hewlett-Packard (HP) India will travel the rural area of the state to impart elementary training to the school students and rural populace and enable them to have access to the digital world.
“Digital Literacy Vehicle is a welcome initiative. I’m given to understand that it’ll impart training to more than 7,500 individuals in the next five years and will help bridge the digital divide,” said the Chief Minister.
“It will enable digital inclusion and lead to empowerment with honing of skills & capabilities leading to better lives for people,” he added.
Sources said that it would impart elementary training on computer operating and use of internet for the next three months.
