Holi, the festival usually celebrated in the month of March to celebrate the end of Spring. In this occasion, people have fun throwing coloured powder and colourful water at eachother. Holi is celebrated all over India with own ritual styles. In Orissa, it is a festival of color and worship of Lord Sri Krishna. Holi is an important festival for the tribals of Gujarat.

There are many stories about the origin of Holi. In this day Lord Vishnu saved his devotee Bhakta Prahlad from the demoness Holika by burning her in fire. Other stories relate to the death of demon Putana at the hands of lord Krishna.
