The first batch of the two-year Post Graduate programme in Fashio Management of NIFT, Bhubaneswar, has set a trend in achieving 100 per cent placement with an average package of Rs 4 lakh per annum, over and above the international placements. This new center has also added a feather in its cap by by bagging the highest package across all the NIFT centres to the tune of Rs 30 lakh per annum. Many students have received more than two offers.
The major recruiters this year are Reliance Trends, PUMA, Kimaya, Fibre2Fashion, Arvind Ltd, Home Shop 18, Shahi Exports, Vishal mega Mart, Snap Deal, Gempro, Maspar among others.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhubaneswar, started in 2010 in a temporary campus near Jatni and finally shifted to its own campus at Patia in January 2012. Starting with two programmes one in UG (Bachelor of Textiles Design) and one PG (Masters in Fashion Management), NIFT has added two more UG programmes from this July-December semester: Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design) and Bachelor of Design (Accessory Design).
