OJEE counselling from June 10

Online registration for counselling for admission into various professional courses under Odisha joint entrance examination (OJEE) is likely to begin on June 10.

OJEE 2013 exam was conducted on May 12 for admission to admission into engineering, pharmacy, MBA, MCA among other streams in colleges in Odisha.

As many as 90,889 (95%) students, of 95,278 who took the test, have qualified the OJEE.

Employment & Technical Education & Training Department’s Additional Secretary Ratnakar Rout informed the media choice locking and document verification of qualifiers will start from June 13 and continue till June 21 at 25 nodal centers.

Detailing out the process Rout said, “Candidates having both admit and rank cards along with other necessary documents will only be allowed to enter the hall where choice locking will be carried out under the surveillance of CCTV or video cameras.”

According to the tentative timeline prepared by the state government, three rounds of counseling will be held. The first phase of counseling will be conducted from June 10 to 29. The second-phase for vacant seats will be held from July 5 to 10 and a third round between July 15 and July 20. “We will try to stick to the tentative schedule.

This year aspirants will have to pay Rs 5,000 towards University registration fee apart from counselling charges of Rs 450. Notably, last year students paid Rs 16,000 towards part-admission fee during counselling.

Rank cards of successful candidates are available for download on websites – www.odishajee.com and www.odishajee2013.com. In case students face any difficulty during the processing they can get it clarified at OJEE call centre.

There are around 3,000 seats in nine government colleges, nearly 800 more than last year. The 98 private colleges have around 42,200 seats. Over 62,000 students have qualified the OJEE for admission against 44,000 seats in around 110 colleges.
