India’s first Hindi satellite TV channel “Zee TV” is planning to launch its Odia edition by coming February.
To launch Zee Kalinga in Odisha market, Zee Media used the used the licence of Zee 24 Ghantalu, its Telugu news channel, after exiting from Andhra Pradesh market by divesting its entire stake in a wholly owned subsidiary, 24 Ghantalu News Ltd, at book value.
Professionals here in Odisha are very much excited to see this development as they have lost their job due to closure of STV Samachar and Odishatime TV (formerly known as Kamyab TV).
Zee Kalinga will have a mix of regional news and entertainment content. The channel already started its test signal from INSAT4A at 83.0E. We are not streaming live here due to copyright issue.
