If you are an woman, working in Bhubaneswar or other parts of Odisha and being harassed sexually, just dial 0674-6451141.
You can also lodge an online complaint with www.isdbbsr.org for help.
The Helpline number and the website for online registration of complaints were launched by the Institute for Social Development (ISD).
The co-ordinator of the Institute for Social Development, Rukmini Panda, said that this helpline and the website for working women were the first of its kind in the state. After the central government passed the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, this move comes as an effort to sensitise women about their rights at workplace.
“When any woman faces any such harassment at workplace, she may call this helpline or lodge a complaint with the website. We will make sure that her identity remains secret. Then we will hold a counselling session with the victim and we will try to provide her with whatever course of action she wants to pursue,” said Panda.
Deputy Director General of Doordarshan Kendra, Bhubaneswar, Jayanti Manjari Rath unveiled the number and website for registration of complaints.
Former Chairperson of the SCW and ISD president Namrata Chadha, CLAP director Bikash Das and programme officer Subhashree Samal were present.
