“Jessy is relatively more successful among the two. The victim was professionally not very well off. Investigation revealed that she was taking care of him in every sense. On the day of the incident, they had gone to a musical programme in Khaira area where Jessy was invited and Raja was not invited as an actor. Raja had accompanied Jessy to the event. Another actor Chandan was supposed to perform at the event with Jessy. However, he did not turn up following which the organisers requested Raja to perform at the event. After the show, Raja was paid Rs 2, 000 and Jessy was paid Rs 27, 000. The female actor verbally abused the victim over his capability and self respect. The altercation between the duo reached a flashpoint and Raja told the driver stop the car so that he can go out to pass urine. He climbed over the parapet of the bridge and jumped over. His death was caused due to this,” Sekhar added.

Earlier in the day, Jessy, event coordinator Pralay Jena and driver Dhaneswar Behera were brought to State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) at Rasulgarh Square in the capital city for polygraph test.

However, the officials had to reschedule the lie-detection test to a later date due to technical glitch in the testing device.
