Odia BSF jawan Pitabas Majhi martyred in Uri attack of Kashmir

The body of Odia BSF Jawan Pitabas Majhi, who succumbed to his injuries at the Army Hospital in Srinagar on Saturday, would come to his village under the Komana police station in Nuapada district on Sunday.

He sustained grievous injuries during a combing operation post the militant attack on Indian Army brigade headquarters at Uri in northern part of Kashmir.

He was admitted to 92 Base Hospital of the Army where he was undergoing treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

“Pitabas Majhi has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the army hospital in Srinagar. His body will be arriving at his native place tomorrow,””Nuapada SP, Madkar Sandeep Sampat informed.

The mortal remains of Pitabas will be brought to Danajhala in a special vehicle after it is flown to the Bhubaneswar airport from Raipur.

Notably, 18 soldiers had died in the brazen attack on last Sunday.
