Odisha blind cricket team champion in National tournament

Odisha blind cricket team becomes champion by defeating Gujarat in National cricket tournament for blind 2016 at Hyderabad.

This tournament was organised by Devnar Foundation for the Blind in association with Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI).

Due to heavy rain only 5 overs match was possible in final. Gujarat won the toss and elected to bat first. In stipulated 5 overs, Gujarat scored 53 for 7 wickets. Chasing the target Odisha scored 54 runs in the last ball of the match.

Sukhram Majhi’s fantastic 17-ball 34 run and Pankaj Bhue’s 8-ball 13 run helped Odisha to reach the winning target in the last ball of the match. Sukhram and Pankaj adjudged as man of the final and man of the series in B2 category respectively.
