Odisha: Central Cosmetic Testing Laboratory in Bhubaneswar

A Central Cosmetic Testing Laboratory will be set up in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha government has allotted 1 acre land near Gothapatna locality free of cost for the laboratory, which is to be set up with 100 per cent central grant.

State Health Secretary Aarti Ahuja in a letter to Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry suggested to accommodate sub-zonal office of the Central Standard Control Organisation (CSCO) (East Zone) on the campus.

The CSCO requires about 0.5 acre of land for its proposed sub-zonal office at Bhubaneswar for strengthening drug regulatory system in the State.

In addition to cosmetic laboratory, it has been agreed as part of strengthening of drug regulatory system in the State that a zonal drug testing laboratory at Sambalpur, having proposed capacity of testing 3,000 drug samples per annum, will be set up in 60:40 sharing basis.
