Odisha first state to launch online eBiz portal for project approvals

Odisha becomes first state in the country to launch online eBiz portal, covering 14 G2B services with a common application form and an integrated payment gateway, which was launched at Odisha Investors’ meet in Mumbai as a part of the Make in India week.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiling the e-Initiatives said that the State Government has embarked on reducing the physical inter-race in governance by leveraging technology in a big way.

These services will enable the investor to set up an industry from the comfort of their offices, eliminating all physical touch points for all investment related services. With the launch of this online platform, Odisha has become a torch bearer in the country in making business easy for investors.

“By being the only State in the country to implement eBiz, Odisha has shown the way to other States and provided a template for digital interventions,” said Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.

The State Government has allocated two per cent of the annual budget of the state for promotion of IT and e-governance in the state to make it citizen and investor friendly.

The state is also planning to come up with a start-up policy to encourage entrepreneurs and new businesses.
