Odisha bags EIFE global award for rural skill development

The State of Odisha has been awarded “Best State Rural Skill Development” by Europe India Foundation for Excellence (EIFE) on 23rd May, 2016 on the occasion of Global Skill Development Meet at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris.

The recognition is for the achievement and contribution in consolidating the efforts to skill the rural youth of the state and thereby increasing their employability and compatibility in the industry led growth environment.

Panchayati Raj Department through Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) spearheaded the programme and through cross state study the EIFE evaluated the initiative taken by the state.

Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Honorable Minister of Panchayati Raj congratulated all the officials and employees of the department for the achievement.

EIFE (Europe India Foundation for Excellence) was created with the objective of promoting skill development, education and R&D in India with a focus on Europe. The non-profit organization – EIFE – was created by France-based philanthropist Count Christopher de Breza, under the Belgian laws in 2014. The foundation acts as a platform to bring together the right public and private partners in the area of skill development.
