Odisha school girl Saswati Rath, a Class IX student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kandhamal, will take part in Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2016 to be held in USA from May 8-14.
ISEF is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition where more than 1,700 high school students from over 75 countries will take part.
Saswati was selected as a student observer after her science project was chosen in the Initiative for Research and Innovation (IRIS) National Science Fair 2015 held in New Delhi in December.
“I am delighted to have been selected to participate in such a prestigious international fair,” Saswati, whose project Eco-friendly pollution control, has found a place in the international fair.
Besides, taking part in the fair, the participants will visit various places during their week-long stay in the USA. All expenses, related to her trip will be borne by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), a binational body working with India and the US government agencies.
