Odisha HSC exam 2015 to be held in last week of February

Annual Odisha High School Certificate (HSC) or Matriculation examination will be held in the last week of February 2015. This was indicated by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha president Dr Dakshya Prasad Nanda.

“The exact dates of the examination will be finalised during the Board members’ meeting scheduled on November 21,” Nanda said adding the Board was prepared to begin the two-week long examination in the last week of February as was done last year.

More than six lakh students across regular and ex-regular streams would appear at the examination to be held at over 2,700 centres in the State.

While the process of filling up the forms has already been completed, the BSE authorities have stated that there will be no change in the examination system. The BSE had introduced grade system of evaluation last year, which will continue this year. The marks obtained by the students in different papers will be reflected in their mark sheets though.

The combination of objective multiple choice units (MCUs) and subjective type for every paper will also continue. All care will be taken to cross-check the answer sheets for fallacious evaluation or glitches before the result is declared, official sources said.

Special steps would be taken to ensure that examination centres are fixed within the stipulated 10 km radius of the examinees’ schools.
