Odisha woman golfer Lakhi Swain wins 1st international trophy

Odisha’s woman golfer Lakhi Swain wins first international golf trophy in her first appearance in 6th Ballantine’s Team-Am Golf Challenge at Jakarta in Indonesia, held from September 8 to 10.

Lakhi Swain bagged champion title in the women category, by scoring 97 points which is highest individual Gross Stableford score aggregated over three rounds in three day. Altogether 220 golfers were participated in the meet.

“I never played in any international meet, though I am bit nervous in the beginning of the meet, but day by day with my hard work and confidence I got the title. My past experience in Mumbai, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Delhi golf courses helped me in this tournament,” said Lakhi Swain.
