OPL (Orissa Premiere League) closing ceremony is spectacular, which was taken place in Barabati Stadium with the presence of all team franchises, players and ollywood stars. It’s a new concept for Oriya (Odia) audience who have shown a cold shoulder to IPL in the two matches arranged in the Barabati Satdium previous year, but they made the first term of OPL very much successful.

Kudos to Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) who has conceptulaised such a nice entertaining show for odia cricket fans.

“Baaishi Pahache Kheliba Meena” is the new Oriya film based on the ‘Maalika’ written by Achytananda. We can call it the oriya adaptation of Hollywood Blockbuster movie ’2012′. But story is based upon our own ‘Maalika’. It’s a new genre of Oriya film inspired from hollywood.

A futuristic fictional oriya movie conceived and directed by Sanjay Nayak. Music composed by Santiraj Khosla. It is the first oriya film produced by Shubham Satabdi Films by Rajalaxmi Priyadarshini. The most awaited movie is going to be released in most of the halls of Orissa on 14th June for the auspicious occasion of Raja, one of the great oriya festval.

RAJANANDINI is the dream project of young Oriya Film Director Appu Kanungo (First Film – Saata Sure Bandha E Jibana) starring oriya film actress Priya in main lead as Rajanandini. Music composed by Prasant Parhi (Sanju Aau Sanjana fame). Recently Prasant Parhi also made some good romantic oriya songs in Album star Deepak’s debut film ” Mana Mora Prajapati “.

Seven chess players from Orissa (now Odisha) participated in Asian Youth chess championship at Subic City, Philippines. Five players among them won three gold and two bronze medals.These players are as follows:

Girl students are making toys in the SPICMAKE national art workshop conducted at Revenshaw University (before Revenshaw College) campus.

They are also taking lessons about art on palm leafs and how to make beautiful accessories from bamboo.

In last match, Balasore Baghaas defeated  by Cuttack Barabati Tigers in OPL (Orissa Premiere League) by nine wickets. The match was played in Railway Stadium.

In the inaugural match of OPL, Cuttack Barabati Tigers also won from Bhubaneswar Jaguars. The match was played in Barabati Stadium.

A new oriya film titled as “ANJALI” is going to be released recently with fresh star cast of Bulu (Album fame) and some other new faces. The film’s music is composed by stylish composer of Ollywood Goodly Rath. All other credits are as follows :

The film is produced by veteran producer of ollywood Subash Rout. Story by Sujata Rout, Music is composed by Deepak Kumar, Dialogues by Sirshanand and directed by Dileep Panda.

Another bengali beauty Subhangi is going to be introduced in the upcoming oriya movie ” Family No 1 ” against new hero Deepak (album fame).
