Nandita Das does not watch Odia films

On the sidelines of the Bhubaneswar Literature Festival, Nandita Das spoke about oriya movies, her new play and future plans. She has done over 30 films in 10 languages till date.

“I don’t watch Odia films so I am clueless. But whatever little I watch while surfing channels, they look like bad copies of bad Mumbai films. We have to create our own voice and don’t have to copy others. There are great filmmakers here as well and I wish the new generation follows them,” she said.

She is directing her husband Subodh in the play ‘Between the Lines’. She is also working on her next directorial venture.
