Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people of Odisha on the occasion of Raja Parba, as the three-day long festivities began with great fervour on Sunday.
The Prime Minister took to Twitter to share his greetings. “Greetings to people of Odisha on the occasion of Raja Parba. May this festival bring happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life,” the Prime Minister tweeted.
Notably, the three-day Raja festival marks the beginning of the solar month of Mithuna with the onset of monsoon.
During this time, the farmers’ community takes a break from farming activities as it is believed that the mother Earth (divine wife of Lord Vishnu) undergoes menstruation.
The festival is celebrated across the state with fervour and traditional gaiety.
