Sonu Nigam in Bhubaneswar for PM’s Urja Ganga inauguration

Eminent Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam came to Bhubaneswar for a musical night during the inaugural ceremony of the Prime Minister Urja Ganga scheme for city gas distribution through pipelines on Saturday.

He was welcomed with a cake tagged with his hit songs at the hotel he has put up in for the show. Sonu Nigam sang his popular Odia hit song ‘Puchuki Gali Mo Bopalo’ during the musical show at Baramunda field in Bhubaneswar.

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project of the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) would be extended to some 10 more cities in the State in the second phase.

“Not only the households in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack can use piped natural gas (PNG) in their kitchens, but people in Rourkela, Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Angul, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Talcher, Dhenkanal, Dhamara and Nalco Colony in Bhubaneswar would be under the PNG surveillance in the second phase,” said Pradhan after unveiling the flag marking the launch of the Rs 1,750 crore CGD project here in an impressive ceremony attended by Bhubaneswar and Cuttack LS members, Prasanna Patsani and Bhartruhari Mahtab.

He also said in Bhubaneswar facility of eco-friendly Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for running three-wheelers and four-wheelers would be available soon.
