50,000 school students sing ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ in Bhubaneswar

The atmosphere at Baramunda ground in Bhubaneswar buzzed with state anthem ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ as more than 50,000 school students sang it amid music.

It is penned by Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra. Students from various schools across the state along with their teachers chorused the song with the music being conducted by renowned music director Laxmikant Palit.

The ground was packed with students and their teachers drawn from around 1000 schools of the state on the occasion of Sishu Mahotsav organized by the Bharatiya Shiksha Vikash Sansthan, Odisha, in a bid to instill a sense of patriotism among students.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the event in the presence of School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Surya Narayan Patra and Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Kumar Patasani.

“The event will infuse the children with a sense of admiration and commitment for the motherland,” the CM said.
