The Commissionerate Police arrested Sura baba and his two sons of Trahi Achyut Ashram situated on the outskirts of state capital Bhubaneswar by leveling various charges today.
The arrest of the trio was made on the basis of case no 187/2015 at Balipatna police station.
Total three cases have been registered against self-styled godman Surendranath Mishra alias Sura Baba so far. He and his sons have been booked under sections 241, 342, 323, 294, 506, 34 of IPC of IPC and 3 of SC/ST Act.

Sura Baba and his two builder sons – Trilochan and Birnachi, were taken into police custody on Sunday late night on the basis of an FIR lodged at Balipatna police station by Jayanta Kumar Bhoi, President of Odisha Samajika Nyaya Abhiyan and a resident.
Earlier today, the police interrogated the trio for hours at the Commissionerate Police headquarter after bringing them from the ashram in the wee hours on Monday.
A woman staying at Trahi Achyuta Nagar lodged an FIR against Sura Baba at Balipatna police limits alleging sexual harassment. Case no 191/2015 registered against Surendra at the police station on the basis of the woman’s complaint. Following the woman’s FIR, Section 354, 509, 109 of IPC were imposed against Surendra Mishra.
Total five complaints have been registered in connection with Sura Baba case. Three special teams have been formed to probe into the allegations.
Sura Baba have allegedly acquired 550 decimals of government land illegally and constructed the ashram on it.
On Sunday night, an irate mob barged into the ashram, set vehicles on fire, and burnt down houses and other assets in the premises.
