The Odisha Crime Branch would start the interrogation of Sura Baba alias Surendra Mishra, head of Trahi Achyuta ashram at Jhiinti Sasan, and his two sons, from today.
Police seized Rs 3 lakh cash from the house of Sura Baba during a search. The cops too have seized 150 grams of gold, one laptop and one computer from the house.
While one woman on Monday lodged an FIR alleging that Sura Baba used to sexually exploit women, another woman yesterday corroborated the allegation and told a local news channel that the Ashram chief used to abuse girls.

Talking to Sambad on condition of anonymity, a teenage girl said she was forced to have sex with the Baba, during her stay at the ashram. As she became pregnant later, she informed the matter to the family members of the Baba, but to no avail. Finding no other alternative, she left for Baleswar and got herself aborted by selling her gold chain.
In another incident, a couple from Soro area of Baleswar district had gone to Trahi Achyut ashram at Jhiinti in June this year where the woman was later sexually exploited by Sura Baba.
Besides, an allegation of murder is also levelled against the Trahi Achyut Ashram chief and his son, who were arrested and sent to jail here yesterday.
One Pratap Mishra of Phulbani in Kandhamal was allegedly killed in 2003. “They (Sura Baba and his son) have killed my brother. Our FIR at the Saheed Nagar Police Station then was ignored,” slain Pratap’s elder brother Pramod Mishra told reporters here.

As informed by the Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma, four special teams have been formed in the initial stage to probe into different angles of the case.
Each team will Keeping the dimension of the probe, the number of team would be increased, if required, Sharma said. have an additional SP, a DSP and 16 staff.
Sources in the Crime Branch said some teams are likely to visit the Jhiinti Trahi Achyuta ashram today for an on-the-spot investigation while another team would bring Sura Baba and his two sons to the Crime Branch office for interrogation.
