Anup Kumar Dash appointed as Director on Board of NABARD
Odisha’s Anup Kumar Dash appointed as part-time Non-official Director on the Board of Directors of National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for a period of three years.
He was Chairman at the Board of Swayamshree Micro Credit Services (SMCS) before joining the Board of NABARD.
NABARD is an apex development bank in India, having headquarters in Mumbai (Maharashtra). It is active in developing financial inclusion policy and is a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion.
Anup Kumar Dash was Professor of Sociology Department at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar. His area of interest is Development Sociology. He conducted research on Improving Impact of Micro Finance on Poverty, within a larger global study of Impact Assessment of Micro Finance Institutions in Orissa, anchored by IDS, University of Sussex, for three years. He was involved in micro finance programs in CYSD as a member of their Board. He has published a good number of articles on microfinance.Teaching Sociology in Utkal University at the M.A. level for 33 years (since 1977) and at the M.Phil level for more than 20 years.
