Bhubaneswar One portal to know everything about smart city

Bhubaneswar One, a web based GIS Map portal, launched by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik which is the first such project in the entire country.

First of its kind, the portal would provide information on the significant places in Bhubaneswar and various public services available at these places. The CM inaugurated the facility at a programme organised by the Housing and Urban Development Department at the State Secretariat.

Bhubaneswar One portal will enable citizens to know everything about the smart city Bhubaneswar. From locations of the hotels, health care centres and government offices to knowing the status of various online services will be provided to the citizens through this app.

The Bhubaneswar One website is jointly developed by the BDA and National Informatics Centre Services Inc (Nicsi), a central government-owned department. The project implemented under Smart City Mission.

“Before conceptualizing the web based App, we had several rounds of discussion with Nicsi. We also scanned the working of Singapore’s App ‘one map’ and got to learn a few intricacies. However, Bhubaneswar One portal will be made far more effective,” said BDA planning member Sudhiranjan Mohanty.

The Bhubaneswar One portal has all the features such as search locations, bus, train and flight schedules, programmes in the city, ideal tourist destinations, address of hospitals and doctors, ambulance facilities, parks and playgrounds, library, shopping malls and markets.

Visit the website here.

With the city inching closer to becoming the smartest city in reality, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is making ‘smart’ moves to provide IT-backed services to the citizens.
