BJP membership drive in Odisha

Setting an ambitious target to enrol 40 lakh members in the next six years Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar launched a toll free number (1800-266-2020) in Odisha for registration in the BJP’s nationwide membership drive.

Javadekar said the party wanted to strengthen its organisational base in the state to make it free from the Congress. “In the coming elections, there will be a direct fight, not a triangular contest.”

One has to dial the toll free number which will automatically end with a missed call. A SMS will appear on the mobile phone screen saying – Welcome to BJP followed by a primary membership number. To complete the whole process, one has to again SMS his/her name, address, pin code if any, Email and voter ID number to 092424922424.

BJP’s Odisha in-charge and national coordinator of the party’s membership drive, Arun Singh and State-unit president KV Singhdeo called upon party workers to reach-out to individual households during the membership drive.

The BJP denied that the Centre was being soft towards the Naveen Patnaik-led government in the state.
