Book on life, music and literary works of Akshaya Mohanty

The Cuttack district administration has decided to publish a book on the life, music and literary works of legendary music composer and singer Akshaya Mohanty.

The book will also contain his unpublished works and unsung songs.

The administration has formed two sub-committees – one to look into Mohanty’s music and the other to focus on his literary works like poems, novels and short-stories.

The panels have noted personalities like Trupti Das, Gita Patnaik, Subash Das, Sangita Gosain, Basudev Rath, Bijay Malla, Pabak Kanungo and Kuna Tripathy as members.

The administration has involved Mohanty’s family in the project. On Saturday, his son Mitrabhanu Mohanty was invited to the meeting convened by the administration to discuss the project.

The administration also plans to prepare a CD on Akshaya Mohanty. Rs 2 lakh has been allocated for the project and more funds will be provided if required.
