CESU consumers can pay electric bill online

The Central Electricity Supply Utility (CESU), one of the power distribution companies in Odisha, has launched online bill payment system for the benefit of its consumers.

Consumers have to browse www.cescoorissa.com or www.cesuodisha.com and then they can pay electric bill online by giving requisite details there.

They can pay from their net banking account, credit card, debit card or ATM.

Besides, the consumers would also be alerted about payment of their dues once they register themselves with CESU.

The online payment would benefit about 18 lakh customers in nine districts of the state, the company said in a release.

To ensure better power load management and easier meter reading, CESU has introduced radio frequency system on a pilot basis in Bhubaneswar.

Under the pilot scheme, meters of every household are fitted with transmitters and the billing machine is equipped with a receiver.

“This receiver can access metres of all households within a 50-metre radius. Under the new system, we can take readings of nearly 100 households from a single point,” said a CESU official.

Besides, the radio frequency meter system will help Cesu ascertain the exact load of an area.
