Odisha’s Chelsi Behura from Cuttack auditioned for Rising Star – India’s first LIVE singing reality TV show with Diljit Dosanjh, Shankar Mahadevan and Monali Thakur as judges.
The fourth episode was all about kids who came with hopes and dreams to make it big as a singer and celebrate their shared passion. These kids have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of music and each of them poured their hearts out with their performances which was an absolute delight to watch.
Chelsi Behura from Cuttack has gone through a certain amount of trials and tribulations in her life, but that has not dampened her spirits. Born with the gift of a golden voice, Chelsi Behura manages to add a different colour to the song Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta Yahan Pyaar Zindagi Mein from the movie Boss. The mentors are delighted and the audience is left mesmerised as she garners 93 percent votes.
The show’s USP is its LIVE voting format. Viewers need to download the Colors TV app, log in through either Facebook or Twitter account and click on Rising Star. Before voting, they first need to check-in for the contestant they want to vote for. Once the performance starts, you can vote for the contestant by swiping the green arrow to right or mark them down by swiping the red arrow to left.
Contestants were introduced with their family background before their performance. One thing that was annoying about the show was that every performance started with a sob story. This might prove to be beneficial for the show and the contestants, as it would result in more votes, but happy stories can be inspiring as well.
