College asks girl students to show boyfriend’s pic
Students in the town of Jagatsinghpur in the state of Odisha are upset about a notice purportedly signed by the college principal that requires female students to show a photo of themselves with their boyfriends in order to enter the college.
“It is mandatory for all girls to have at least one boyfriend by February 14. This has been done for security purposes. Single girls will not be allowed to enter the college premises. They will have to show a recent picture with their boyfriend,” read the notice.
The principal told the media that the notice was an attempt by certain infamous individuals to sow discord on campus. It is wholly untrue and unsupported. I oppose this behavior. I urge the police to find the people who posted the message on social media and punish them severely.
