Odisha: New ESI hospitals at Paradip, Balasore, Berhampur, Koraput
Four new Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospitals will be set up in Odisha’s Paradip, Balasore, Berhampur and Koraput. While the Odisha government has approved it, the proposal is waiting to get Centre’s nod.
Currently, there are 5 ESI hospitals operational in Odisha. Another 2 are underway in Angul and Duburi. With the approval of four new hospitals, total numbers of ESI hospitals will reach 11 in the State.
Employees with monthly income of upto Rs 21,000 will be entitled to get ESI facility. Earlier, the facility was provided to the employees with monthly salary upto Rs 15,000. Apart from ESI hospitals and dispensaries, alliance has been made with 10 private hospitals to provide medical facility to the beneficiaries.
Similarly, tie-up has been made with 8 super speciality hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for serious ailment treatments.
The organisations comprising more than 10 employees will get facility to be registered under Spree scheme to get ESI benefits. The registration is open from 20th December 2016 to 31st March 2017.
