Odisha Tourism is currently enjoying a huge visibility on the streets of Munich in Germany, thanks to a new mode of branding launched by the state tourism department – ‘Bus branding’.
Ahead of the much awaited Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup, Bhubaneswar 2018, Odisha Government has invested in an intriguing bus advertising campaign across Munich to promote the sport.
The campaign titled “Odisha by morning, Hockey by evening”, can be seen on buses to promote Odisha not just as a venue of the much awaited Hockey Men’s World Cup, but also as an exciting and beautiful tourist destination.
This campaign comes at a time when the world’s largest folk festival Munich Oktober fest is taking place in the city. Over the past decade, this festival has attracted an average of around six million visitors a year, and so the Government of Odisha is keen on utilizing buses, a mode of transportation very popular in Munich to promote the campaign. Promotion on buses will reinforce the campaign message to an already engaged customer base while captivating the attention of those planning their next escape. This overseas promotion will be visible from October 1 to October 31 in Munich.
Talking about the campaign, Vishal Dev, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Sports & Youth Services Department and Odisha Tourism, Government of Odisha said, “Oktober fest is a huge crowd-puller and bus advertising campaign is a powerful way of being heard. Odisha will get valuable exposure from audiences during the peak morning and evening commutes and goes a long way in popularizing the state as an exciting sports and tourist destination to the world. The bus advertising activity is a part of a wider marketing campaign undertaken for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup.”
