Girl makes U-turn, files FIR against Sarathi with Crime Branch

The girl who had accompanied Sarathi Baba to Hyderabad, lodged an FIR against the arrested Sarathi alias Santosh Raul on Saturday.

In her FIR lodged with the Crime Branch police today, the girl claimed the Baba, through his women associates, had threatened her with life. He had made an offer of Rs 10 lakh to her to keep her mouth shut and threatened to kill her if she didn’t keep mum and opened her mouth against him.

Notably in the first FIR, it was alleged that she had received life threats from four persons whom the investigating agency interrogated yesterday.

Now that the lady has filed an FIR against the Baba, Crime Branch sources said the agency may seek Baba’s fresh remand to interrogate about their relationship and most importantly their July tour to Hyderabad.

Source said, based on the FIR, the investigating agency will also slap new Sections against the godman. Earlier a case was registered against him at CID police station under different sections of the IPC, SC-ST Atrocities Act, Arms Act and under provisions of Misuse of Religious Institutions Act.
