India vs Sri Lanka T20 match at Barabati Stadium on December 20

Barabati stadium will host an International T20 match between India and Sri Lanka on December 20 instead of its previous allotted game in November.

The fans were left disappointed after Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) expressed inability to host India-New Zealand T20 match on November 4 at Barabati Stadium as the Baliyatra festival was scheduled to begin on the same day in the city.

Security arrangement for both the events at the same time would have been quite a challenge for the authorities.

Due to Bali Jatra in November the state association and Odisha Cricket association expressed its unwillingness to conduct any game in Cuttack. So they requested BCCI to change the schedule and venue.

Meanwhile, the BCCI Tours and Fixtures Committee has finalised the upcoming scheduled for team India that will play nearly 23 international matches starting from October to December this year, sources said.
