India vs Sri Lanka first ODI at Barabati stadium

Good news for Cricket lovers in Odisha. After T20 international cricket match between India and West Indies was cancelled, BCCI today announced that the first one-day international match between India and Sri Lanka would be played at Barabati stadium in Cuttack on November 2.

Online sale of tickets would begin tomorrow while the remaining tickets would be sole at the counters of the stadium on October 30 and 31, secretary of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Asirbad Behera said.

“As we had already began the preparation of the pitch and outfield of the stadium for the T20 match between India and West Indies scheduled on October 22, preparation for the one-day match between India and Sri Lanka would be completed ahead of the schedule,” he informed.

The West Indies decided to end the tour after the 4th ODI in Dharamsala and will not play the remaining fifth ODI, one T20 match and Test series. The West Indies Cricket Board abruptly called off the remainder of its India tour due to an ongoing payment dispute with the players.

Following the cancellation of the tour, the BCCI invited the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday to play five match one-day series to which the latter agreed.
