Odisha origin girl Indrakshi Pattanaik wins National Award

This Odisha origin girl Indrakshi Pattanaik has bagged the National Award for Telugu film ‘Mahanati’ in Best Costume Designer category at the 66th National Film Awards for 2018 announced on Friday.

Born to an Odia father and a Bengali mother, she did her schooling in Kolkata. But she often travels to Bhubaneswar to meet her relatives living on Tankapani Road.

Indrakshi said, “I am currently in Kolkata to watch the live concert of my husband Nitin Malik, lead vocalist of band Parikrama. He sent me a screenshot of a message via WhatsApp that I have won the award for Mahanati. I could not believe my eyes. I was almost in tears.”

Indrakshi Pattanaik graduated from Symbiosis Institute of Design in Design and Fashion Communication. She did her masters from Polimoda International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing in Florence, Italy.

The young stylist has worked with Vogue India and Grazia India. She has also worked as big names in the industry like Niharika Bhasin Khan as costume assistant in Anurag Kashyap directed Bombay Velvet. In Khaidi No 150, she has also styled Telugu star Chiranjeevi.
