Maliguda tunnel of Odisha is the highest broad-gauge railway tunnel in India and the second highest in the world.
The long tunnel is situated on the top of hill in Maliguda village, 35 km eastwards of Jeypore. Maliguda is 50 km away from Koraput.
Maliguda is a small, beautiful and green hills village. Many people visit this place for picnic and to enjoy the scenic beauty of nature.
Maliguda tunnel on which the entire route of 430 km was built by Japan Engineers in between (1961-66) with Japanese collaboration for the supply of Iron Ore from Kirandul to Vizag Port via- Dantewara, Jagdalpur, Jeypore, Koraput, Padua, Araku, Kottavalasa.
