Recently Odia girl Ipsita Biti has bagged the lead role in Marathi filmmaker Adeeth Bhandarre’s upcoming venture Ek Awaaz.
The film is a supernatural thriller, portraying a struggle between the everyday world and the sinister beyond. Ipsita, 19, plays the role of Nishi, an optimistic and brave character, who tries to unveil the realism behind the paranormal activities.
Ipsita, who always aspired to become an actress, learned through her friends that the auditions for the film were being held at Mumbai and Pune. She had taken part in various rounds of the auditions.
But, she feels that what clicked was her confidence and interest in the supernatural, which of course is the theme of the film.
Ipsita completed her high school education from DAV Public School in Cuttack and joined KIIT University in Bhubaneswar. She is now persuing her BTech (second year) in civil engineering. Born on 6th July 1995, the 5 feet 7 inch lady is working as a model for the last five years.
She was crowned Miss Popularity in the Pantaloons Miss Vizag contest recently.
Speaking about her experience during the shooting, Ipsita Biti said: “All the crew members were very supportive. We shot at extreme temperatures, and I came to know about a number of techniques of film-making.”
The film to be released both in Hindi and Marathi is scheduled for April.
