Odisha CM inaugurates 15 industrial units; to create 8883 jobs
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today performed the ground-breaking ceremony for 15 industrial units through a video conference.
In a major development that would give a boost to the industrial sector and create employment in the State, the 15 industrial units will collectively invest Rs 1807.92 crore and create 8,883 jobs in the State.
Among the 15 projects, the maize processing plant at Nabarangpur will significantly contribute in creating new job opportunities in the industrially-backward district. Besides, the proposed industrial park at Dhamra will promote port-led manufacturing in the State.
“In less than a year, we have done the ground breaking or inauguration of 64 projects which have created employment opportunities for more than 30,000 youth in the State,” the CM said.
Sources said, food processing, including seafood, contributes over half of the projects (8 of the 15 projects). This would further strengthen Odisha’s position as the food processing hub of Eastern India.
