Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated bikers from the Border Security Force’s women’s contingent who performed stunts during this year’s Republic Day parade in New Delhi.

“Glad to meet inspirational daughters of Odisha who made history as part of Seema Bhawani, 1st all-women @BSF_India bikers team that bedazzled Nation on #RepublicDay. They are role models for all & example that girls are less to none in courage & tenacity. Wished them all success,” Naveen tweeted.
Mita Hansda said she was initially frightened, but the experience was exciting. “We required a lot of coordination and determination. We stood by each other and are happy that it came out well in the end,” she said.
Some members of the squad didn’t know how to ride a bike till a few months ago, she said.
BSF trainers chose the squad members, aged between 25 and 30, from various combat ranks. The team showcased its skills with daredevil stunts like fish riding, side riding, faulaad, prachand baalay shaktiman and bull fighting.
