Odisha girl Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai wins Community Impact Award in Google Science Fair 2015 held at California.
Earlier she has been selected to be one among the 20 finalists in Google Science Fair.
Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, has come up with a simple method of using corn cobs to filter contaminants such as oxides of salts, detergents, suspended particles, dyes, oil and certain heavy metals out of water.
Oliva Hallisey, a 16-year-old from the United States, won the 2015 Google Science Fair with her project to develop a fast, cheap, and stable test for the Ebola virus.
Hallisey beat out 22 other finalists for the grand prize. She takes home $50,000 in scholarship funding from Google.
