Odisha boy Lagnajit Das has secured All India Rank (AIR) 2 in CMAT 2017 and perfect 100 percentile in Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). The result has been declared on February 7.
As many as 59,181 candidates had appeared for the test. This year, both AIR 1 and AIR 2 have secured 100 percentile. The highest score obtained is 350 out of 400, which is much higher compared to previous years. Saras Suhane, AIR 1 of CMAT 2017 has scored 350. The score of AIR 2 Lagnajit Das is 329.
Hailing from Bhubaneswar, Lagnajit Das, AIR 2 is an alumnus of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. He has pursued Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy and Material Science. The second rank holder credits this victory to his dedicated efforts, planned strategy, and most importantly, never give up attitude.
Lagnajit’s father is manager in Odisha Mining Corporation and mother is a teacher. It was his first attempt. “I want to pursue MBA in Finance from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS Mumbai). I have got calls from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar and International Management Institute, New Delhi,” Lagnajit Das said.
Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
The CMAT is a three-hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.
This test facilitates Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all Management programs. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
According to AICTE, the exam conducting body, the CMAT 2017 result was expected on February 10 but it was declared prior to its schedule.
