Odisha government has hiked fee for the medical, engineering and professional courses offered in the private colleges. The courses become little more expensive now.
As per the revised fee structure, the highest amount of Rs 1.25 lakh has been hiked for the MBBS course in Hi Tech Medical College and Hospital in Rourkela where the candidate has to pay Rs 5.50 lakh instead of Rs 4.25 lakh. The fee for BDS course has been hike to Rs 6.50 lakh from Rs 5.50 lakh in Bhubaneswar. The Clinical PG course fee has been fixed at Rs 7.15 lakh and Dental fee course at Rs 3 lakh. However, PG course fee has remained unchanged for this academic session.
The fee for B.Pharm and B.Tech courses has been hiked to Rs 9,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively in various private colleges. As the CV Raman College of Engineering has received a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) “A” grade accreditation status, its fee for engineering courses has been increased to 1.14 lakh from Rs 89,000. The candidates have to pay Rs 1.25 lakh for M.Tech course at the institute.
Similarly, the B.Tech course fee has been hiked to Rs 1.10 lakh at Gandhi Engineering College (GEC), Bhubaneswar and Rs 85,000 at Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar. The M.Tech course fee has been increased to Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 93,000 respectively in these two colleges.
However, the fee for the B.Tech and M.Tech courses has been reduced to Rs 72,000 from 77,000 and Rs 79,000 from 85,000 respectively in Krupajal Engineering School (KES). Source said that additional fee of Rs 5,000 taken for NAAC status has been reduced for this academic session.
The MBA and MCA course fee has also been increased by Rs 9,000 upto Rs 27,000 in various private colleges across the State. While fee for B.Arch and M.Arch courses has been hiked to Rs 81,000 and Rs 89,000 respectively, the course fee has been fixed at Rs 55,000 in SGI School of Architecture, Bhubaneswar.
